Breedon Electrical Services has long been a supporter of Nottingham Post Sports Awards and has reprised its sponsorship once again as it backs the Ice Hockey Player of the Year.

The category plays a central role in shining a light on one key ice hockey player that has enjoyed an outstanding season so far and last year it was Panthers’ star Brett Perlini turn for the spotlight as he picked up the award.

The Ice Hockey Player of the Year is one of the 15 awards that will be celebrated during the special awards ceremony on Thursday 31 October at the East Midlands Conference Centre.

Breedon, who supply electrical, fire, CCTV, automated gates, door access and security solutions to commercial, educational and industrial sectors across Nottinghamshire, are proud to be revealing the winner on the night.

The business’ Director Andrew Springhall commented on their involvement with the category.

“The likes of the Nottingham Panthers have undoubtedly put Nottingham on the map for ice hockey,” he said.

“We, and the local Nottinghamshire residents are extremely proud and lucky to have such a successful sporting team to our region’s name and so we wanted to celebrate all that is good and great about the sport.”

As part of their role as sponsors, Breedon will be responsible for getting onto the stage and revealing the winner and Mr Springhall expects the winner to “have demonstrated something extra special”.

Breedon has been sponsoring the awards for several years now and it’s the event’s ability to put their business in front of key people that keeps them coming back.

“Obviously the major element is raising the profile of the business to the Nottingham Post Sports Awards’ audience,” Mr Springhall added.

“We deliver an excellent service to our customers and many comfortably recommend us to peers within their sector. Our industry is often marred by poor workmanship but being involved with key awards like these continue to set us apart from our competition.”

Nominations for the Ice Hockey Player of the Year are now open and can be entered for on www.nottinghampostsportsawards.co.uk. Here, you will also get all the information you need about the event, including key dates for the diary.
