All good awards ceremonies are fronted by hosts who have the humour, charisma and confidence to carry the night and the upcoming Nottingham Post Sports Awards is no exception to this.
Thanks to this year’s host sponsors Nottingham Maintenance, two very special sporting faces will be on hand to make the night memorable for all.
Badminton star Gail Emms MBE represented Great Britain at the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, European and World Championships. In 2004 she won a silver medal at the Olympics in the mixed doubles with her partner, Nathan Robertson which she followed up with a World Championships gold two years later.
Gail is now a respected broadcaster and pundit working for major broadcasters including BBC and Sky Sports. She is also an esteemed awards ceremony host where she offers engaging commentary and anecdotes from her life.
Her fellow host might not have competed himself, but his career has seen him immerse himself in one particular sport.
Broadcaster Mark, or ‘Clem ‘as he is more widely known, is a football sports presenter and reporter. A firm favourite on BBC’s MOTD2 and Final Score, as well as Radio 5 Live’s Football League programme, Clem is passionate about the beautiful game.
Acknowledging the importance of events such as these, Nottingham Maintenance is thrilled to be involved, as its Estimator Jack Chester confirmed.
“We have supported the sports awards for 3 years now,” he said.
“Every year we always have an enjoyable night and feel a sense of pride to be part of such an amazing evening which celebrates local talented people.
“These events are very important for networking and getting your brand out there for people to see.
“There are lots of different businesses in the room so having the opportunity to talk to people that you wouldn't normally come across is very good for business.”
The Nottingham Post Sports Awards will return to the East Midlands Conference Centre on Thursday 31 October where guests will be welcomed with a Champagne reception, three course dinner and as well as the enjoy a number of fundraising games throughout the evening.
