A leading independent law firm which has been at the heart of Nottingham’s business community for more than 250 years, Fraser Brown Solicitors, have reprised their support of the annual Nottingham Post Sports Awards.
Committed to supporting the community around them, Fraser Brown operate across their four East Midlands’-based offices, delivering a wide range of commercial and private client legal solutions.
The firm have been dedicated sponsors of the Nottingham Post Sports Awards for five years and this year are getting behind the Club of the Year category – just one of the 15 that will be celebrated at the official awards ceremony on Thursday 25 October.
Patrick Wood is the Managing Director at Fraser Brown and commented on the firm’s choice of award:
“We chose to sponsor Club of the Year in response to the hundreds of sporting clubs across Nottingham that continue to demonstrate exemplary team work and commitment to sport.
“We believe that there is a wealth of benefits that sport offers beyond the pitch or track. It has proven to positively impact on mental health and brings a sense of belonging as part of a sports club, which can have incredible results and mirrors what we strive to achieve at Fraser Brown.”
Fraser Brown’s client base includes an extensive portfolio of sporting clubs and facilities, so they are always looking for ways to give something back.
Patrick explained how sponsoring the awards benefits them and their ambition to support the Nottinghamshire sporting community:
“The awards offer us the opportunity to acknowledge and congratulate the greater sporting community on their achievements and contributions to local sport. We are home to some of the country’s greatest teams, with individuals that deserve to be celebrated. We are all familiar with the larger clubs that receive regular publicity in the Nottingham Post but we like the fact that these awards recognise clubs and individuals that are not normally given the spotlight they deserve.”
Not only do events such as the Nottingham Post Sports Awards raise the profile of the individual sportspeople it celebrates, but on the same side of the coin, raises the profile of the region, showcasing it to the rest of the country as a great place to thrive in sport.
Patrick was keen to highlight Nottingham’s sporting features further:
“Nottingham and Nottinghamshire has sustained a high-profile in national sport with no greater advert than the fabulous Trent Bridge Cricket Ground.
“The number of visitors to the county that the international games bring is phenomenal and something that the city’s economy benefits from in so many ways. Similarly, visiting fans to some of our larger clubs such as Nottingham Forest, Notts County and Panthers matches all positively impact on businesses.”
